Lincoln Key Modification

Q. I have a 1993 Lincoln Town Car. I want to cut a key, or change the lock or whatever to have a key which will turn on the accessories but NOT start the car. Would replace ignition or do whatever to accomplish this.

Is there a way to change something on the key cuts so it will turn "back" and on the accessories but NOT go all the way forward and start the car?

A. As far as I know, what you want to do is not possible. I'm not a Locksmith but I think a lock and key are "set in stone" as it were. You might want to talk to a Locksmith, however, since they would know better what is possible and what is not. Since they can replace the individual pieces inside the ignition switch, they may know of a way to do it.
