Jeep Cherokee Questions
Q. I just bought a 1990 Jeep Cherokee and have a couple of questions:
The oil gauge moves up and down, while sitting at lights it goes low and then when accelerating or driving at steady speeds it stays up near the 40 range. I checked the oil and it is at the right level. What’s the deal?
The right side vent window latch is missing the previous owner had a break in and never replaced it. Where can I find one?
The keyless entry system works but only one out of many attempts, the pad is cracked, can it be replaced?
A. The oil gauge going up and down is normal. The oil pressure should be:
- At Low Speed (600 rpm) 13 psi
- At 1600 rpm and Higher 37-75 psi
You can probably fond one at a junk yard or order a new one from the dealer.
Yes, the pad can be replaced. You'll have to remove the inner door panel and do a little disassembly to get to it.
