Pontiac 6000 Code 32 EGR Circuit
Q. I have 1990 Pontiac 6000 2.5 4 cylinder automatic with TBI that keeps giving code 32 EGR CIRCUIT. Replaced EGR valve and replaced vacuum hose. Cleared code by unhooking positive battery cable. Drove car 75 miles. Service light came on and got code 32 again. Before I put on the new EGR valve car was running rough and stalling.
Now runs better but sometimes hard starting when cold. But not stalling any more. Plugs and wires have 10,000 miles on them, car has 123,000 miles. Any help or comments would be helpful.
Thanks,
MacA. Check to make sure there is no EGR solenoid in the loop. Does the EGR vacuum hose go from the valve to the throttle body or is there a solenoid in between it? If it's straight vacuum to throttle body make sure there is vacuum at the port on the throttle body with the throttle slightly opened while running. If not, the port is clogged.
