Honda Accord Ticking Noise

Q. Hi, I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX automatic transmission. It has 170,000 miles. When I make tight turns in a parking lot or driveway, the right front wheel makes a series of ticking noises. What's the deal? Is it still safe? And how should I repair this?

Thanks,
Terry

A. You most likely have a bad Constant Velocity (CV) joint. Turn the wheel fully to the right and look inside the wheel well. If you see a torn black rubber boot, then you can bet the CV joint is shot.Check the left side the same way.

The most cost effective way to repair it is to install a pair of rebuilt axle shafts.
