Riviera Still Running Rough
Q. A couple days ago my service engine soon light came on, and the car would rapidly drop and gain RPMs at idle. I checked the diagnostic trouble code as you instructed and the code for mass airflow sensor came up. So I bought a new mass airflow sensor and the car still runs the same.
What kind of advice do you have for me to try?

JakeA. You may have a vacuum leak somewhere. This would let air by-pass the idle air control valve and MAF sensor causing all kinds of problems. An unlit propane torch passed around suspect areas may help in finding a vacuum leak. Be extra careful around the ignition system in case a stray spark happens to light off the propane.
