Car Trouble Q. I bought my car used about two years ago. It is a 1989 Cutlass Callea. The engine light has always been on for as long as I have owned the car. The guy that I bought it from told me that the engine light did not matter. Okay, now my problem. My car will not hardly move and it backfires really bad, but it runs good just sitting still. Renita

A. You need to have it scanned for what trouble codes are stored first. This should point you in the right direction. That light is coming on for a reason.
