Lexus IS300 "Computer Chip"
Q. Hi Vincent, I recently purchased a computer chip for my 2003 Lexus IS-300 and can't seem to find the air intake sensor to stick it in. I was told for my car that it is connected to the throttle body but I just can't seem to find it and I don't want to just start taking things apart and do something bad to my car. The chip is basically a wire shaped like a "U" but at the top of the arch it has the little computer chip connected to it.
I'm supposed to place the wire end into the air intake sensor and tape it so it won't slip out. Does this make any sense to you? I hope so. Please help
Thanks,
MarkA. I know these "chips". All they are is a .02 resistor that comes in a fancy package. They fall into the same category as the Tornado and other such devices. Also installing it will void the new car warranty.
I hate to say this, but if you paid more than .35 for it, you got taken.
