Grand Cherokee Cruise Control

Q. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I want the cruise control to work when driving in school zones at 25 mph, or through the city at 30 mph. However, the cruise control in my Jeep won't operate until it reaches 35-40 mph. Is there anyway to adjust this to accommodate these lower speed limits?

Thank you!

A. Sorry, there is no way to change the minimum speed it will engage at. But you might want to have it checked by your dealer. 35 to 40 mph is a little high for a minimum engagement speed. Most other cars will engage at 25 to 30 mph. While at the dealer, drive another vehicle just like yours and see if it acts the same. It may just be the nature of the beast.
