Acura Integra Tachometer

Q. My wife's 1993 Acura Integra (150,000 miles) has a tachometer with a needle that bounces unnaturally at around 3,000 rpm when going about 70 on the highway. In addition, the car seems to temporarily lose power when cruising down the highway. Just wondering what types of things may cause this. Electrical? Vacuum issue? I have no clue.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Acura Integra Tachometer

A. I would have the Throttle Position Sensor tested across it's full range. There's a very good chance there is a "dead" spot that is causing the problem. The other possibility is a bad Ignition Control Module (ICM) inside the distributor.
