Buick LeSabre Has A Transmission Leak
Q. I had the engine and transmission rebuilt in September 2003. Engine appears to be performing well. However, I am getting a transmission leak after the car sits for approximately 10 days. I did take it back a month ago; they tightened bolts around the "pan" which were apparently loose. They said bring it back if still leaking.
It is still leaking, but only after the car sits at least 10 days. I'm not knowledgeable regarding this type of issue but welcome any suggestions before I return the car to the repair shop.
- 1975 Buick LeSabre Convertible
- 350 carbureted V-8
- Automatic transmission
- 226,000
- P/S, A/C
Thank you...
A. There is ultra violet dyes that can be added to transmission fluid and then checked with a black light to isolate a small leak. Could be any one of many seals or even a crack in the case!
