Plow Truck Transmission
Q. Hi, my CK 1500 Chevy ½ ton truck has been in my drive way for 3 months due to that the transmission has gone out. I can shift into drive and go somewhere but the truck will not go to 3rd gear. Take off is rough, like I am stuck in 2nd. I plowed drive ways this winter. would that be the cause of my trouble? When I drove it down the street, the rpm's went up but my speed stayed at 25 mph. What could be wrong, and how can I go about fixing the problem?

A. I would say that the snow plowing is the cause of the problem. Plowing plays havoc with transmissions. Best thing you can do is take it to a transmission shop who can diagnose the problem for you. I think you're looking at a complete rebuild here.
