Cutlass Supreme No Start
Q. Hi, I have a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. It has a 2.8 liter and its an automatic. It's also fuel injected. It broke down one day and I had to replace the control module because it had no spark. It got spark after I replaced it, but then it was not getting fuel. So I replaced the fuel pump and relay and the fuel pump only turns on when you bypass the relay.
It does not run when I turn the key on. I also replaced the computer on it and now it does not get spark. When it did get spark it was real weak. I have tested just about every wire to the fuel pump and everything involved with it. I have also replaced all of the fuses. If you have any help that would be great. I have asked everyone and I hate to just junk it after all of the money I have invested now.
Thanks again,
BubA. The fuel pump is controlled by a relay through the ECM under the dash. Did you use GM parts? Ignition modules made by someone other than GM can be trouble. Also, if the ECM sees no spark/crank signal, it won't power the fuel pump. You need to re-check the ignition module, crank sensor and it's harness.
