Questions and Answers

Grand Cherokee Transmission

Q. My question is, I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherroke Lardeo and it will not shift from second to drive. The mechanic has put in a new pump and two rebuilt valve bodys and with the last one he says now when he turns the key on the Jeep thinks it is in reverse. This is a Chrysler certified mechanic. Can you help?

A. After three attempts to repair it, I think it's time for Chrysler to put in a new transmission. The most likely cause of the problems you are having is the valve body and since two valve bodies later, the problem is worse I think Chrysler has to stop playing with it and just replace it.
