Toyota Camry Windshield Wipers
Q. Hi. My daughters 1988 Toyota Camry suddenly doesn't have working windshield wipers. We have checked the fuses and they are okay. So I need to know how to trace the electrical wiring to the windshield wiper motor. The car had a minor accident just last week where the passenger side front bumper was crumpled. Does this area contain any wiring that goes to the wipers?
Thanks in advance,
DebbyA. At the wiper motor connector, check for power at the blue wire with the key on. Then check for power at the blue/black wire with the wipers on low speed, and the blue/yellow wire on high speed.
If there is no power at the blue wire, either the fuse is bad or there is an open in the wire. If you have power at the wiper motor in both speeds, the wiper motor is bad.
If not, check the same wires at the wiper switch. If you have power coming out of the switch, there is an open between the wiper switch and wiper motor. If there is no power coming out, and power at the blue wire, the wiper switch is bad.
