Ford Versus Chevy Trucks: What To Buy Q. Vince, I am in the market for a used full sized truck. Ford trucks versus Chevy trucks. I am looking between the years of 1992 to 1996. What would be my best choice for reliability and resale? Which is the best one? Please lend me your advice into this matter. Thank you...

A. This is not an easy question to answer. If I say Ford trucks are better 481,392 Chevy fans will write me all kinds of nasty letters. If I say Chevy trucks are better, the Ford guys will come down on me like a ton of bricks. I once mentioned that Pontiac Fieros were oil leakers and tended to catch fire (they do) and I got all kinds of letters from Fiero fans calling me names and questioning the legitimacy of my birth.

Both have advantages and disadvantages. Good points and bad points. They are close as far as quality and resale value so basically it comes down to personal preference.

Now, if I were in the market for a truck and I had to buy an American made truck, my choice would be a Dodge 3500 2WD Pickup with the 5.9 liter turbo diesel. In my humble opinion they are well made and I like the diesel for their longevity and fuel economy.

Okay, with that said, come on you Ford and Chevy guys, give me your best shot!
