Two Chevy Corvette Questions
Q. Hi Vince, I read this column all the time, just have 2 questions. First the stats. 1994 Chevy Corvette, 350, automatic transmission, 73,000 miles.
- I'm getting a kick back from the gas pedal when I punch it from a start or when overtaking. It will kick back at my foot and I have to punch through it. Is this an overdrive thing gone wrong??
- I know a 1994 Chevy Corvette has a stiff ride but this is getting crazy. It's so bad that it feels like the car and me are going to fall apart every time I hit a bad patch of road. Can you recommend some shocks that'll let me ride over a fairly normal road without loosing my teeth?
Thanks,
SteveA.
1. What you are describing sounds like this car has traction control. There is a button on the dash to "over-ride" this feature. Every time the tires loose traction the TCS kicks in and pushes the gas pedal back at you. Read the owners manual on this so you know how it works and how to disable it.2. The ride? They all ride like trucks. You may also have adjustable ride control on this. If so, there is a switch on the console to change setting from one of three positions.
