Another Honda Won't Start

Q. Hi Vinci, I have a 1993 Honda Accord. A few days back, my car wouldn't start. I had to leave it at work. The next morning it started right up. It wouldn't start later. Just before I decided to call for a tow I tried it one more time and it started. I drove it straight to my mechanic. While there it started every time.

He said he can't diagnose the problem if it continues to start right up. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks,
Phyllis

A. Hi Phyllis! Did you get rid of the Toyota Camry of do you still have it?

Anyway, your mechanic is right. It's impossible to locate a problem unless the problem is occurring. Otherwise everything that's check, checks out good.

In this case I would have to take a look at the Main EFI Relay. This is a known problem for Honda for quite a few years. If it doesn't start when the temperature is high and starts when the temperature is low, I'd be willing to bet you dinner that it is the Main EFI Relay.
