Q. Hi Vincent, I have a problem with the power windows that happen from time to time. It does not matter what the weather is like or if the engine is cold/warm but at times the windows will not operate. When one window works, they all work, and if one window doesn't work I can not even open the window if I lean over to the passenger side door and try to open from that door. After a certain time the windows work properly again. I replaced the power window fuse which did not fix the problem. I am at a complete loss, since I don't think it's the switches since they work sometimes, and then they don't.
1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4Thank you for your time,
MarkAfter it was repaired and aligned at the dealer I noticed that over about 30 mph I get a humming noise when I turn right or left. It stays the same pitch but increases in noise with speed or sharper turning. It drives straight so I'm guessing it's in the power steering. What could be damaged in there? Could it also be bad alignment, camber? Any answer appreciated.
Thanks,
SteveA. The first thing I would do is to check the front and rear hubs. In this type of accident, they will bend. It won't be enough to see visually, but it will effect the vehicle.
Bent hubs put a lot of stress and strain in the wheel bearings which is probably the noise you hear. Since a bent hub will effect the brakes as well, I would have the hubs checked as soon as you can.
