Chevy Monte Carlo HVAC Problems

Q. I have a 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo with 95,000 miles. The blower motor works fine for heat A/C or vent when I am idling but as soon as I accelerate it dies until I reach a level speed. Any ideas??

Thanks,
Gary

Chevy Monte Carlo HVAC Problems

A. Sounds like you are describing a vacuum problem. The blower may seem to die but it actually starts blowing out the lower dash vents or heat duct. Then as vacuum levels off it comes back out the dash vents.

You need to check the vacuum supply from the intake manifold tee to the HVAC control head. Somewhere along the way there will be a broken or rotted vacuum line.
