Honda Civic Automatic To Manual

Q. My name is Jeff and I've been for some time looking into converting my 1993 Honda Civic EX to a manual. I would like, from your point of view, what kind of mess I'm getting into. Any pointers and help would be a big help and greatly appreciated. Would also like to know your point of view on an AWD Honda Civic using CR-V parts.

Thanks,
Jeff

Honda Civic Automatic To Manual

A. Well Jeff, given the time and money, you can do anything with a car. In this case I think you would be better off trading this car in on a car that already has a manual transmission.

In this case you would need the engine and manual transmission since the engines are different between the automatic transmission and manual transmission. Then you would need to get the computer for a manual transmission.

Now that you have the engine, transmission and PCM, you now need to get the shift linkage, shift handle, clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder and the clutch hydraulic lines.
