BMW 528 Cooling System Problem

Q. BMW 528. The radiator does not work, but I need to give it water every 40 to 50 miles. Other than giving up this old car because paying to have it examined and fixed which will cost more than the car is worth, do you have any ideas as to what the problem(s) might be?

Thanks...

A. If you have to keep adding coolant, you have a leak in the cooling system. Where? I don't know. It could be any part of the cooling system. It will need to be pressure tested to find out what is leaking.

I don't know the year and milage of the car, but a BMW 528 usually holds it value pretty well. Especially if the body is in good shape.
