Volvo Will Not Shift Q. 1991 Volvo 740. Car was put into park while checking fuse, Now car is stuck in PARK position unable to shift gear.

A. You probably blew the Shift Interlock fuse. Check all the fuses again with a test light or DVOM and make sure they are all good.

If they are good, put the key in the ACCESSORY position and try shifting into NEUTRAL. If you can you need to check the Shift Interlock system. Most likely a bad brake switch.
