Brake Bleeding

Q. Vince, I would like some assistance in bleeding my brakes. I did brake work to the front of the vehicle (new brake hoses and brake pads) and now I need to bleed them. All I know is that I start at the right front, and that I need a second person. That's all I know.

What tools do I need and what do I do to the master cylinder besides keeping it full of brake fluid?

1987 Allegro Motorhome.
454 cid engine with carb
4 way disc brakes
3 speed automatic transmission
GMC Chevy P-30 1 ton chassis.
70,000 miles

Thanks in advance,
Joe

A. You don't really need any special tools except for a brake bleeder wrench. I would start at the left front, then right front, left rear and right rear. To start I would open all four bleeders and let them gravity bleed until you get a steady drip, then close them off. This will save a lot of pumping. Be sure you keep the master cylinder full at all times otherwise you will suck air into the system. Other than that, there's nothing you need to do with the master cylinder.
