Rough Running Honda Civic

Q. Hello my name is Ryan, I was wondering if you could help me. I own a 1993 Honda Civic (M/T). It has a problem. When I first start the car it runs fine for around 5 minutes, then the check engine light turns on, and as soon as that happens, it starts to run very poor. It almost stalls at idle.

But the thing is if I shut it off and turn it back on again. If will run for 5 minutes again perfectly, then the light turns on and again it runs very poorly. Also it will run good longer if I drive it really slow, but still the light will turn on and you know the rest. I think it might be a sensor but I really I have no clue. If you have the time could you please help me?

Thank you for your time,
Ryan

A. There could be a number of reasons for this problem. What i would suggest is to pull the codes from the computer and see what they are. That will give us a starting point to troubleshoot this problem.

You can find the procedure for pulling the codes and what they mean in my Troubleshooting Subject.
