GMC S-15 Has Running Problems
Q. I have a 1989 GMC S-15 V-6 2.6 liter with about 320,000 kilometers on it. I'm having problems:
1) Starting the engine, it takes a million cranks to get it started.
2) Once started it idles very rough.
3) At intersections it may stall if I remove my foot from the gas or if I apply the gas too quickly.
It usually runs great at high speeds, I have replaced all the plugs, distributor cap, rotor, wires, gas filter with no change to performance. Can you help?
Thanks for your time...
PeterA. Have the fuel pressure checked. Sounds like it's leaking down when shut off and possibly flooding out the engine OR it's not getting enough fuel.
