Chevy Blazer Not Shifting Q. It's the month after Christmas and it's unbearably cold. Funds are low and I don't want a new transmission. I just has to be something electronic. Okay, 1995 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4.3 automatic transmission and A/C. 103,667 miles. In drive or overdrive the vehicle goes through the first shift pattern but never back down again and then nothing at all, it's like it's in neutral. first and second are fine if done manually.

Don't get drive or overdrive back until I have made a complete stop. Then the process repeats itself. Any suggestions, I am in an area full of rip off artist. I used to be a light mechanic but with my new job I have little time so I let someone else do something I could do in the dark, and that's when I have caught them.

Don't want to get taken on this because I don't know much about transmissions. Any suggestions would be appreciated more than you could possibly know.

A. This is an electronic transmission so anything is possible here. You really need a scanner and a pressure gauge to accurately diagnose this type of problem. Have you given a dealer a crack at it? Somebody out there has to be honest.
