Kia Sephia A/C Blows Hot And Cold

Q. I have a 1996 Kia Sephia 2.8 liter fuel injected engine, automatic transmission, 146,000 miles, P/S and A/C. My A/C goes in and out. When I am at a stop, it starts to blow hot. There are times when driving the car, the A/C is working, and then it starts to blow hot. Is it the compressor?

Thanks for your help!
Esther

Kia Sephia A/C Blows Hot And Cold

A. If the A/C blows cold while the vehicle is moving and gets warmer when stopped, then the cooling fan(s) are not working. The fan(s) must be running constantly whenever the A/C is on.

If the A/C blows cold and warm regardless of vehicle movement, then the freon level in the A/C is probably too low. The freon level would have to be checked, any leaks repaired and recharged.
