Pontiac Lemans Engine Stalls At Stops
Q. Sir, I have a 1991 Pontiac Lemans, known as Daewoo Racer in our part of the world. It has a 1.5 liter engine, 4 speed manual transmission, it has 70,000 kilometers on it. Its engine was rebuild at about 65,000 kilometers. As such there is no problem with the vehicle. It has got a CNG kit as well.So it can be driven on gasoline and compressed natural gas.
The problem is that its engine stalls when slowing down or stopping at traffic signals. I would appreciate if you could guide me in the matter. I would also appreciate if you could let me know web site address where I can get more info about its wiring diagram and other tech stuff. We don't have a dealership here where I can get the advice in the matter.
Thanks...
A. Could be dirty Idle Air Control Valve or carbon in the throttle body. Try cleaning it first. As for books, Try Chilton or Motors manuals.
