Pontiac Fiero Failed Emissions
Q. Dear Mr. Ciulla, I recently purchased a 1984 Pontiac Fiero from a woman in Connecticut. I failed the Massachusetts hydrocarbons emission test twice. The first HC test result in 3.64 gpm, the second in 2.64 gpm. I have changed the spark plugs, wires, ignition cap, and air filter which brought the gpm down to 2.64.
Massachusetts has a limit of 2.0 gpm. Is there any things else I can change/repair on my own. Thanks for your help.
Respectfully,
PaulaA. I would try an oil change and a new oxygen sensor. Then see where you are in H/C's.
