Which Scan Tool For A Ford Windstar? Q. I currently have a 1995 Ford Windstar 3.8 liter. The Check Engine light is on and I would like to be able to get the codes. Every where I look on the internet says it is a OBD-I system, the Hayes manual says it is an OBD-II system. I'm looking to get a scanner but don't know which scanner to get. Located below the steering column is a 16 pin OBD-II type connector.

Any help would be appreciated, and thank you in advance.

A. Most OBD-II scanners will work on OBD-I systems. For example I did a product review of the AutoXray scan tool which will work on most cars from 1983. When you go shopping, just be sure to read the specs of the scanner you are interested in to be sure it's going to do what you want it to.
