Honda Accord Door Handle Retainers Q. I have a 1989 Honda Accord 2 Door Hatchback. The door handle broke and now I'm trying to remove it. I have all of the interior trim off but for the life of me I can't figure out how to disconnect the door handle latch rod from the outside door handle so I can pull the handle off. I have all the bolts out but the latch connects at the top of the handle and I can't see how to remove it.

My Haynes manual just says take it off, but how? Would you have any advice or a how to on this one?

A. One end of the clip (red) hooks on to the rod. Unclip it and swing it clear of the rod and then lift the rod out of the clip

If you are referring to the other type, it just pops in and out.
