Ford F150 Cruise Control In-op
Q. I have a 1995 Ford F150 with a 4.9 litre engine, automatic transmission, 130,000 miles 4WD. My cruise control for a while has been a real problem. I could put my foot just over the gas pedal and I could feel it constantly move up and down. It was quite noticeable too. And now my cruise doesn't work at all.
My cruise control buttons are on the front of the steering wheel on the sides of the airbag. What should I do next in diagnosing the problem?
Thanks...
A. Diagnosing a cruise control system is a long, involved process. The best thing to do is to go to the public library and get the service manual that will have the complete diagnostic procedure.
Alldata also has the complete procedure as it is in the Ford Service Manual. If you plan on keeping the truck for a while, it might be a good idea to subscribe to their service. It's $24.95 a year and, in my opinion, well worth it.
