Ford Mustang Flashing Him Q. Dear Vincent, I own a 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8 liter V-6. After I start the car in the morning the O/D off indicator flashes for a few moments and then stops. The transmission seems to run fine but I am a bit concerned any info you can give me would be much appreciated. Thank so much, Danny

A. The OD Off light flashing indicates a malfunction in the transmission control system has been detected. There is no way to access the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) without a scan tool. There are a number of things that can turn on the light so I can't even guess what might be wrong.
