Leaking Honda

Q. I thought I had an oil leak and took it back to Wal-Mart to have them examine it after three days of having the oil changed. They then put the car on the rack and showed me underneath and showed me this gray pan that was the transmission and that was what was leaking.

In the last four days it has leaked enough to cover most of one side of a cardboard box that we put underneath it. It seems as if it is leaking quite a bit. My question is my mechanic is two hours away, would it be wise to drive it that far without knowing how much I have leaked and would it help to buy transmission stop leak bottles they sell in auto stores? I am just not sure what to do and would appreciate your help in telling me if it would be safe to drive. It's leaking brown fluid.

Manual Transmission

A. I wouldn't waste my money on those "stop leaks" they generally do not work. That transmission holds about two and a half quarts of 10W30 or 10W40 type SE or SF motor oil. I would just fill it up and a two hour drive will be okay.
