Ford Mustang Erratic Idle

Q. Hi my name is Jan. I have a 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8 liter. It has 25,000 miles on it. I recently put an air filter on it and at the same time I put 8.5 mm plug wires. After I did this my car had a weird stalling problem. When I start my car it idles fine. Even in driving its fine. But for some reason when I am driving fast and I slow down real fast the RPM needle goes down to like 2,000 rpms then sometimes goes lower and stalls.

It also does this if I'm at a stand still and I floor it, then I hold in the clutch and hit the brake to slow down, either the RPM gauge needle will go down very low and then go back up in a few seconds or it will just go down very low and stall. I have no idea what the problem could be. Any ideas.

Thanks a lot,
Jan

A. There is a connector you need to unplug when you replaced the air filter. Did you plug it back in?
