Chevy ½-ton Pickup Starving For Gas?

Q. 1990 Chevy ½-ton Pickup 350 cid. The other day the truck was running fine and it started to stumble like it was running out of gas. It died and I restarted it, but I could not keep it running without giving it a lot of gas pedal. It looked like it was starving for gas. Last month I went through the ignition side of the truck. New distributor, ignition wires, coil spark plugs, new EGR valve.

Chevy ½-ton Pickup Starving For Gas?

I have checked the fuel pump and it does run. About the only thing that I know for sure is that when I disconnect the vacuum line from the MAP sensor and the engine is cold the engine runs fine. Then when it gets warm it dies. There is no hard code that sets. I also went through the TBI and everything looked okay. The MAP sensor was also replaced. Any suggestions?

A. I just saw one of these today with a similar problem. The fuel pressure was too low, about 8 psi. It needs 13 psi. There was a broken spring inside the pressure regulator! Not saying this is your problem, but a fuel pressure check is in order first.
