Buick Lifters

Q. Greeting: I have a 1983 Buick Park Avenue with a 5.0 Liter Engine. My Question is I want to reset the lifter. Do I tighten the bolt on the top of engine center where the lifters are on both side of the engine? The side I want to tighten is on the right side of the engine. The left side is ok.

A. The V-8-260 and V-8-307 engines are equipped with hydraulic valve lifters. No provision for adjustment is made for these engines. So to get rid of any valve noise, you'll need to replace the lifters.
