Lincoln Town Car Steering Wheel Starts Q. Dear Vincent, Is servicing my Universal joint on my 4WD Ford Explorer the same procedure as replacing it on a 2WD? Or do I need to know something more? It's a 1995 Ford Explorer 4WD with 77,000 miles. When I put it into reverse in the morning, It makes a loud sound like a huge "clunk bang!" Thanks for any help you can give me. Chris

A. The procedure is the same, only difference is the 4WD has two more universal joints than a 2WD.
