BMW 528i Rear Door Panel
Q. Vincent, I am having a problem with my 1997 BMW 528i driver's side back window, so I need to get the door panel off. I know that there are clips holding the perimeter of the panel on, but I am not sure where the major fasteners are. I believe they are in the handle, but I do not know how to get to them.
Is there a web site that would show me a diagram?

DavidA. Okay Dave, I may be able to save you some trouble here. If the production date is between 3/96 and 7/96 or the chassis number is between BV50010 and BV50896, take it to the BMW dealer. They will reprogram the General Modules for you. A Software error in General Modules (GM III) using Software 1.1 through 1.4 can cause excessive running time of either or both rear window regulators, resulting in damage to the motors
