Ford Taurus Lost Electrical Power

Q. My car is a 1993 Ford Taurus. I just bought and I have all these problems. First my brakes went out and I had them replaced. Then shortly after that I parked my car for about an hour and then it would start backup. I had lights and everything else but when I tried to start it just made a humming noise and quit trying. Someone told me it was the starter.

So I towed it to my house. While towing it my hazard lights cut off and I didn't have any power. I checked the battery and it was fully charged. I then went ahead and replaced the starter but I still have no power at all. Can you tell me why my car has no power when my battery is full power?

A. The first thing you should check are the fusible links in the engine compartment. If there is no power at all then that is probably where the problem is.

The fusible links, F, G, and T are located in the left hand rear of the engine compartment, at the engine compartment fuse box.
