Mustang Dies

Q. My name is Justin and I have a 1989 Ford Mustang GT 5.0. It has a lot of miles on it (112,000) , P/S, P/B, A/C and a manual transmission.

For the past three days I have been trying to find the cause of a rather unusual problem. The car will start and run for 10-15 min then die with no obvious cause. No sounds are emitted from the engine. I recently put a new clutch in it. Any help that you give me would be very appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

A. I would have to say you need to look for something in the electronic ignition. You probably have a bad ignition module (not uncommon in Fords) or a bad pickup in the distributor.

Another probability is a bad fuel pump. What you need to do to narrow down the possibilities is to check for spark when it dies. If there is no spark, then you probably have a bad module. If there is spark, then you need to look at the fuel system.
