GM Door Auto Locking Doors

Q. My 1993 Chevy Lumina has these automatic door locks that lock the doors once the car is taken out of "park". In order to unlock the door, the doors must be unlocked manually. Is there some way to disable the automatic door locking feature, and at the same time keep the power locks enabled?

A. That has to be the most aggravating feature that GM has ever used in a car. And GM has come up with some doozies.

I have never tried to bypass the shifter switch and I don't know of anyone who has. From what I can see from the wiring diagram I don't see how it can be disabled without disabling the power door locks. I will keep you in mind and I will experiment with a car that has that feature. If there is a way to bypass it, I'll find it.
