Oldsmobile Intrigue A/C Light Flickers

Q. I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue, 3.5 liter V-6, automatic transmission, about 60,000 miles, ABS, A/C, and cruise control. The A/C button in my car has a little green light on it. When you turn the A/C on, the light comes on. Sometimes when I am driving, the light will turn off and the A/C will only put out cool air, like a vent.

Then the light will flicker on and off. I have tried pressing the button and holding it, but that doesn't always work. It is like the button has a mind of it's own. Do you think it could be the compressor or maybe a bad connection? Please help.

A. Most likely it's a bad control head. The Chevy Malibus have this very same problem.
