Drippy Chevy S-10

Q. I have a 1998 Chevy S-10 pickup with an A/C problem. The condensation from the A/C box under the hood has now decided to start leaking inside the cab on the passenger side. It is water for sure because it drip off the lower seam on the plastic box under the hood.

I used to have a 1987 Ford Thunderbird that did the same thing to me and a local mechanic would take a wire and clear out a drain tube underneath and the water would pour out fixing the leaking on the Thunderbird. Now I'm trying to find out if I can do the same thing on my S-10. I have been under the truck and cannot find anything that looks like it might be a tube going to the A/C box.

Am I looking for the right thing? Does such a place exist? Should I just give up and take it in? Money is kind of tight right now so being able to take care of it myself would be very helpful.

Thank You,
Mike

A. This should not be an expensive repair for a shop. There is usually a hole in the evaparator case that lets the water out. Natrually, it would be easy to find if it were dripping water. You just need to feel under the evaparator for a hose. Then get a piece of wire and poke it in there to dislodge the crud.
