Honda Accord Hard Summer Starts

Q. Hi, Vince: I have a question about my old Accord.

  • 1991 Honda Accord DX
  • 2.2 liter
  • Manual transmission
  • 162,000 miles
  • Fuel Injection
Honda Accord Hard Summer Starts

It runs very well in all seasons except summer. When the weather is hot, it is difficult to start the car. Usually, I need to keep trying for 10 minutes to start it. However, as long as I manage to start it for the first time, It runs very well the rest of the day. I just replaced the spark plugs, ignition wires, battery, and had a engine tune-up. The problem is still there. I think I need your opinion before I put more money on it.

Thanks,
Chen

A. Summer is when I see a lot of Honda Main Relays go bad. I wrote an article on this and how to check them.
