Rough Running Mazda
Q. I have just purchased a 1989 Mazda B2200 Pick-up. I replaced the plugs cap rotor and wires. When I did so I found that the engine seemed to run very rough. I did not have anything out of place nor did I have the wrong parts. I placed each old item in turn back into the vehicle to see where the problem lied.
Once all the original parts were put back in the engine still runs rough. Everything was getting spark but the smell of raw fuel was in the air. I have lots of problems and no answers. Can you help?
Mike
A. It sounds like you crossed a wire somewhere. I would go back and check them and make sure you have the right wires going to the right plugs.
Here's a diagram in case you need it.
