Adjusting Kia Sephia Rear Drum Brakes

Q. How do you adjust the rear drum brake shoes on a 2000 Kia Sephia? I have the service manual but it does not tell you how to adjust the brakes.

Adjusting Kia Sephia Rear Drum Brakes

A. You will need a drum brake resetting gauge to adjust the brakes. The drums need to be cut first. Then you measure the inside diameter of the drum with one side of the brake resetting gauge and use the other side to bring the shoes out. When you're done, the final fine adjustment will be made automatically when you step on the brakes.
