Chevy Cavalier Convertible Top Q. I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier convertible L/S. My convertible does not to go up or down, hear the motor and when I do help the top it opens or closes. I've looked inside at the mechanism and it look like it has all its gear teeth. Can you help please? I want to see if I can fix it before taking it to a convertible top shop.

A. You may want to see a dealer about this. There may be some updates or bulletins on this problem. Could be just a weak motor or tight top mechanism.
