GMC Speeding Standing Still

Q. I have a 1994 GMC Truck Sonoma, 6 Cylinder, automatic. My Speedometer will sometimes go form 0 to 30 or 40 truck not moving, also driving you will be going about 35 and the Speedometer will go from 0 to 50 or 80.

Thanks,
Bob

A. You need to check the wires from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) sensor at the rear of the transmission. Follow them until you can't see them. Make sure they are not touching anything. You may need a new VSS sensor. Also may have a loose gear inside the transmission that vibrates and makes it "think" it's driving down the road.
