Mercury Sable Doors And Lights Q. Dear sir, I have a 1998 Mercury Sable 4 door, 6 cylinder. My inside lights and door open lights stay on when the car is running or off. Not all the time just at sporadic times. Also when this happens the key alarm go off with doors shut and the engine off. What is going on????? Thanks for your time, Donald

A. This is most likely due to a bad door switch. The door switches in this car are in the door latch. Another possibility is there is a door misadjusted. Look at the backs of the doors and see if they sit flush with the pillars. If they stick out then they need to be adjusted and increases the likelihood of be the cause of your problem.
